A Time of Great Shaking

Chuck Cohen, sharing on praying for Israel and the nations in Perth, Scotland in May, spoke of two words God had impressed upon him this year: Suddenly and Shaking.

Things are changing in our world rapidly. And there was much shaking of the established order – look at the turmoil in the Middle East this year. Nation after nation in unrest, and such increased pressure on Israel from all sides. Clifford Hill has spoken repeatedly about the word from Haggai 2 now being fulfilled: ('For thus saith the Lord of Hosts, Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens and the earth, and the sea and the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of Hosts.' Haggai 2: 6-7)

Judgment on the nations

Lance Lambert has prophesied this year of severe judgment on nations that oppose Israel. Yet God will protect His own.

Haggai also prophesied, "Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah saying, 'I will shake the heavens and the earth; and I will overthow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen...' Haggai 2:21-22"

A Covenanted Kingdom

Jesus appointed (diatithemai Gk) a kingdom to His disciples. All things are being shaken that the kingdom of God remain. Lk 22:28 Heb 12:25-29 The saints of God will inherit the kingdom sworn to David. Daniel 7: 18, 22, 27. Luke 1:32-33

Turning of the Tables

As we, the Church, lay hold of God's covenant (oath), we can see God intervene and overturn (overthrow) the plans of men, even as He turned over the tables in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago in righteous anger. Then, he healed the blind and lame in the temple where they gathered. (Matt 21:12-13, John 2:13-17)

May we see God's power put back into the centre of our lives. To Suddenly and Shaking we can add overturn.

SOS Prayer

Suddenly, Overturn and Shaking will give us an 'SOS prayer':

'Lord, help us prepare ourselves for sudden changes. Show us how to pray so You can overturn evil plans as You continue Your judgments in shaking all things.' Amen
