TWELVE COVENANT MERCIES By C. H .Spurgeon

1 - Saving knowledge

"...they shall all know Me from the least of them unto the greatest of them." Jeremiah 31:34

2 - God's law written in mens' hearts

"...I will put My law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts." Jeremiah 31: 33

3 - Free Pardon

"...I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more." Jeremiah 31:34

4 – Reconciliation

"And they shall be My people, and I will be their God." Jeremiah 32:38

5 – True Godliness

"And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me for ever..." Jeremiah 32:39

6 – Continuance in Grace

"And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts that they shall not depart from Me." Jeremiah 32:40

7 – Cleansing

"Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols will I cleanse you." Ezekiel 36:25

8 – A Renewed Nature

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36: 26

9 – Holy Conduct

"And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments and do them." Ezekiel 36:27

10 – Happy Self-Loathing

"Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and your abominations." Ezekiel 36:31

11 – Communion with God

"Moreover, I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them... and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Ezekiel 37:26-27

12 – Necessary Chastisement

"If His children forsake My law…Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless My loving kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer My faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips." Psalm 89:30-34
