A TIME FOR COMFORT

A Time of Favour

In the midst of bad news, economic shakings and rumours of war, the Lord has been speaking this year about a time of favour, of comfort for His people - to Israel first and also the Church. (Ps 102).

He is the God of all comfort. (2 Cor 1:3-4)

In his August 2010 State of the Nation message, Rev Clifford Hill quoted Isaiah 40 v1, which God had spoken to him. He explained that the Hebrew word for comfort, nacham, can be translated as: repent, have compassion, have a change of heart or disposition. It can also mean to breathe strongly.

After His resurrection from the dead, Jesus appeared to his downcast disciples and He comforted them by breathing the Holy Spirit upon them. (John 20:19-23)

Clifford believes that Jesus wants to comfort His people, encourage them and equip them for the battle we are in and for stronger trials ahead.

'God Himself is coming onto the battlefield', He stated.

A Window of opportunity

At a recent Leaders' meeting, the Lord spoke of a time of opportunity, a window opened for a season, for His Church to wake up.

Three things were stressed:

1. Get rid of idols - in our personal and corporate life.

2. A Call for greater unity

3. Guard the spiritual heritage of our nation by teaching our children and grandchildren the word of the Lord. (Deut 4:9-10) Each new generation needs to be taught afresh the things of God. We will be judged by this.

Words were given

'I am at work through My People. My power is great enough to change and release captive souls... be ready to see the answers, mighty answers, which will bring transformation and healing... working in town and country...'

'...Don't come under a yoke of heaviness and condemnation... God has heard our prayers.' (From Dennis Wrigley, not present) '...Don't delay, stand firm against the enemy now and I'll give you victory. I will honour the intention of your hearts, your obedience, your humility. If you'll awake from sleep and rise up as one, speak out and pray as one, then the wind of the Spirit will blow, the water will flow over the land, ruined walls will be built, dead bones will spring to life, your deserts will blossom.'

Then, all stood and declared the Lordship of Jesus Christ over the UK. 'We need the larger meeting to see the bigger picture', Clifford said. 'And, 300,000 are added to the Church each day.' Things are happening!
